A fall festival for the whole family
Join us for our 45th annual Agricultural Fair at Genesee Country Village & Museum – back for its 49th year! Celebrate the bountiful Western NY harvest as the Museum shines in its finest fall colors! Enjoy livestock and cooking demonstrations, entertainment for the whole family, and browsing for unique finds at the market in the tradition of the country fairs of days gone by.
Blue Ribbon Showcase
A GCV&M tradition, exhibit your creativity, skill, and mastery in the Blue Ribbon Competition during the Agricultural Fair! Entries will be displayed throughout the festival after judging is complete on Saturday around 1p.m.
Categories include:
- Bake Goods (bread, cakes, pies, etc.)
- Pickles & Preserves (jam, jelly, sauces, honey, syrup, etc.)
- Dairy (butter and cheese)
- Beverages (beer, wine, cider, switchel, kombucha, shrub)
- Fiber Arts (knit, crochet, woven garments, etc.)
- Mechanical Arts (soap, coopering, woodwork, brooms, etc.)
- Artistic Endeavors (photo, drawing, painting)
- Horticultural Arts (bouquets, wreaths, potted plants, etc.)
- Agricultural Endeavors (best or largest fruits and vegetables)
- Youth Competition for ages 6 – 11 and 12 – 17.
Shop a Farmer’s Market
Find fresh, flavorful, and wholesome smoked meats, honey, apples, cheeses, maple syrup, baked goods, and other tempting wares for sale to satisfy the palates of many. All items are grown or made right here in Western New York. So mark your shopping list and head to the fair!
Goats and Horses and Birds, oh my!
Experience the Rochester Poultry Association’s 117th annual show, visit the Genesee Country Dairy Goat Club, and enjoy a meet-and-greet with the Equestrian Heritage Society. Don’t miss the spectacular parade of horse owners showcasing their majestic steeds through the historic village!

Working up an appetite while exploring the Historic Village? Make your way over to the Pavilion Garden Restaurant to see what they’re serving up!
Plus, the Whistlestop Bakery will be holding a bread sale from 1 – 3 p.m. daily (until sold out).

Dive into a world of fun! Tom Bohrer’s One & Only Punch & Judy Show will bring classic marionette entertainment to life. Enjoy lively music. Join Seneca craftswoman Veronica Reitter for hands-on corn husk craft workshops. It’s a weekend full of joy, learning, and artistic expression!
Catch the Mayor’s Cup (Sunday, October 5)
Don’t miss the LAST vintage base ball game of the season at GCV&M – the Mayor’s Cup! We offer the nation’s most comprehensive 19th-century base ball program, including games all summer and the National Silver Ball Tournament! Each season the Museum’s vintage base ball teams unpack their woolen uniforms, brown balls, and double-knobbed bats to play in Silver Base Ball Park, the first and finest replica 19th-century base ball park in the country.
Concessions will be open on Silver Ball Field from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
